ultrasound guided joint injection

All,

I am having trouble locating medical necessity for joint injections performed under ultrasound. I know generally it shouldn't be done just for patients with osteoarthritis, there has to be other factors but can't seem to find anything in writing. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
